Parents! LAUSD has 60 new Grab & Go Food Centers for your child and/or children

The Los Angeles Unified School District will open 60 "Grab & Go" food centers in response to the district closing schools due to COVID-19.
Click here to locate the closest center near you and your family.
*NOTE*  Each child will be allowed to take home two meals from the centers. Students must be accompanied by a parent.
Every Grab & Go Food Center will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. weekdays

Free Online Course for Family Caregivers: Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Beach Cities Health District is here for you! 

An evidence-based, self-care program for family caregivers who are currently involved with providing care to children or adults with chronic conditions.

In six weekly classes, caregivers develop a wealth of self-care tools to:

  • Reduce personal stress
  • Communicate needs to family members and healthcare or service providers
  • Communicate more effectively in challenging situations
  • Deal with difficult emotions
  • Make tough caregiving decisions

With the (COVID-19) Disaster Relief Assistance for Immigrants Act, even if you are undocumented, a qualifying adult can still receive $500 in direct assistance, with a maximum of $1000 in assistance per household!!

LA County Tenant Bill of Rights: Extension of Eviction and Rent Freeze through June 30, 2020

The temporary moratorium is effective from March 4, 2020, through June 30, 2020. Tenants will have twelve (12) months following the end of the moratorium period to pay back any amount due. This may be extended by the Board of Supervisors on a month-to-month basis

While we’ve now experienced the new “normal” of Safer at Home due to COVID-19, it’s ok to feel those feelings. But most importantly, know that it’s ok – and that you’re not alone.
Every Thursday from 1-2 pm on Beach Cities Health District has a "Talk About it-Group Parent Workshop Series". 
Please remember during this time to take care of your mental health, practice mindfulness, and know you are not alone and there is a community of people dedicated to encouraging conversations about mental health :)
