 Provides health coverage to millions of Americans, including eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults and people with disabilities. Medicaid is administered by states, according to federal requirements. The program is funded jointly by states and the federal government. It provides a broad level of health insurance. coverage, including doctor visits, hospital expenses, nursing home care, home health care, and the like.. Medicaid also covers long-term care costs, both in a nursing home and at-home care. Prescription drugs are not covered by Medicaid.

L.A. Care is one of 11 carriers offered on California’s State Exchange: Covered California. They offer coverage in the Northeast and Southwest Los Angeles county pricing regions. Members can receive information and assistance in their preferred language other than English. Approximately 73% of L.A. Care’s Covered California enrollees are part of a racial/ethnic group other than Caucasian/white.
