Welcome to the South Bay Adult School -

The South Bay Adult School (SBAS) has been a proud partner of the South Bay community for over a century. We have empowered adult learners through a wide range of classes, programs, and workshops designed to help adults achieve their personal, academic, and career goals. Our mission is to provide education, skills, and confidence that enable learners to thrive in today’s competitive world while enhancing their quality of life.

As the SBAS Director, I am honored to serve as the Director of SBAS. It is a privilege to work alongside a dedicated, caring, and passionate team of teachers, instructional assistants, support staff, and office staff who collaborate daily to ensure the success of every student. I am deeply grateful for the partnerships we share with our students, families, and the broader South Bay community—together, we make SBAS a vibrant and supportive learning environment.

At SBAS, we value a holistic approach to learning. We foster growth not only academically and professionally, but also socially and emotionally, creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every student feels known, supported, and encouraged. Our diverse student body reflects the richness of our community, and together, we build a culture of respect, engagement, and mutual inspiration.

We are proudly accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Thanks to state and federal grants, most of our core programs are free to adult learners who are committed to their educational journey.
