hi thank you for coming in to take your writing assessment today my name is Katie and I am the high school diploma teacher here at South Bay adult school so I know a lot of times when you hear you have to take a writing assessment and you worried about being judged on your writing skills I would encourage you to let go of that and he just realized that by taking this as a reference today a pretty good information for you on where your skills it's going to be areas you are strong in the areas that you might need more help him and we don't know what they are but don't stress out just do their very best you're going to have one hour to work you will be given scratch paper to write a draft or an outline and that offense is very helpful to gather you thought you really writing this essay without the help of other people so just realized it's good to use your own voice with your own examples in your own experiences to explain dress writing prompts about a current topic and you're going to write an essay short essay about that so we're looking for one to two or more paragraph and be sure to write what you feel in your own voice and use example timer in the upper right hand corner of the screen and it's raised your hand and notify your Proctor be sure to answer thoroughly the writing prompts and appoint using humor or sarcasm just being sincere in your writing you will be stating your opinion and supporting it with specific details and examples and you organize your essay using effective transition between ideas in paragraph to remember to use a variety of choices and different examples and do your very best grammar and spelling and punctuation so before you get going keep in mind you want to carefully consider that your main idea will be and stay focused on it throughout the answer a few clearly find your main idea provide supporting detail and are examples of support the main idea and organizing the supporting ideas and details and examples so that the reader can follow a logical explanation of your idea finish your essay by double-checking your word choice in your situation so take a deep breath realize you're going to do the best that you can do and all of this is going to be good information for you and for us to be do it now questions raise your hand for your Proctor now
