Dear South Bay Family Tree Community,
I would like to start by hoping that you are all staying safe and wearing masks in our current environment. We know that this has been a huge adjustment to your families, especially at this critically important point of growth and development for your child(ren).
As you can imagine, we have been following very closely the guidance and information coming from both State and local officials as to our ability and the conditions under which we could reopen our program in the fall. After looking at the latest information, as well as after consulting with officials from both RBUSD and MBUSD, I am sorry to announce that we will not be holding South Bay Family Tree classes this fall.
We understand that this program has had a long history in our community. Indeed, my own daughter (who is now a college freshman) attended SBFT classes when she was still in diapers. However, we must allow the needs of public health and the safety of our students to guide us in this situation. We will continue to monitor the situation and when school campuses are safe to reopen based on guidance from the LA County Office of Education and the LA County Department of Public Health, we will make an announcement on our website as well as on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the program, you can call us in the South Bay Adult School office at 310-937-3340. Thank you and stay well.
